Word is that crews with the upcoming, made-in-Boston comedy "What's Your Number?" are making a concerted effort to showcase Beantown in all of its glory, with one insider saying it will be a "two-hour postcard" that will focus on some our city's swankier locales.
Production is slotted to kick off on Friday, May 14 and continue through July.
Possible locations for "What's Your Number?" starring Anna Faris from "The House Bunny " and "Scary Movie " include a one-day shoot at the Sanctuary Boston nightclub, located at 189 State St. in the Financial District. Also, scouts are setting up shop at the empty storefront on the corner of Newbury and Clarendon streets.
In July, crews will film at the new W Hotel Boston, located at 100 Stuart St. in the Theatre District. Formerly approved by the city as a Loews hotel, the swank destination at Tremont and Stuart streets is a hot spot for Boston's trendy, professional crowd and boasts about 220 rooms, with 100 luxury residential condominiums on the upper floors.
The made-in-Massachusetts flick follows Faris' character Delilah who looks back at the past 20 men she's dated in her life and wonders if one of them might be Mr. Right.
Other actors attached to the "What's Your Number?" project include Andy Samberg from "Saturday Night Live " and Zachary Quinto who stars as Spock in the 2009 "Star Trek " remake and, of course, is "Sylar" from "Heroes."
The film is based on Karyn Bosnak’s book "20 Times a Lady " and is directed by Brit Mark Mylod who previously helmed "Ali G Indahouse" before moving to HBO's "Entourage." Sudbury-bred actor Evans is attached to play Faris' womanizing next-door neighbor.
