(Chris & Chris our future Thor & Captain America)
The actor portrays the legendary superhero in the new movie, and had to beef up for the role. He had no problem packing on muscle, but his buff physique posed a problem for movie bosses. Captain America is originally a skinny man called Steve Rogers, who becomes the hulking superhero in order to aid his country. Chris had to shoot scenes as both Steve and Captain America but only needed bulging biceps when he was the latter, meaning the crew had to find a way for his muscles to shrink and grow quickly.
“They got some great stuff going on right now. Initially they were going to do all body replacement - hire another actor completely and have this skinny body do the scene and do face replacement," Evans told MTV at Comic-Con in San Diego. "But I guess the first couple tests weren't what they were hoping it would be, and then they decided to go with just shrinking me down. They did a couple tests. It looks fantastic and it's really going to be a big transition.”
Chris loved filming the movie because he got to play two characters. Although Captain America was exciting to portray he is also a fan of Steve, and hopes moviegoers won’t forget about him because the superhero is so exciting.
“It's absolutely one character, I think he's Steve through and through, even after he goes through the transformation. I think you want the audience, even in the final frame of the film, to look at him and see the little guy,” he explained. “That's what I think is endearing.”
